Transplant Resource Services

We offer our Transplant Resource Services (TRS) products to employers and insurers who want to provide access to high-quality, cost-effective transplant care to their employees and enrollees. TRS offers different options for managing transplant costs and care to fit our clients' needs.

The Optum Transplant Centers of Excellence Network

The Optum Transplant Centers of Excellence Network is the nation's leading transplant network, managing more than 14,000 referrals each year. Through this network, clients save an average of 54% off standard charges per transplant episode.*

We select our network medical centers through a process of quality measurement and value-driven contracting that are unique in the health care industry. TRS contracts address 100% of the total transplant costs, while similar services control only 60% of transplant-related costs. We cover all phases of patient health care:

  • Evaluation
  • Pre-transplant
  • Transplant
  • Post-transplant
  • Twelve-month follow-up health care

The Transplant Access Program

The Transplant Access Program (TAP) addresses challenges our clients face when their enrollees opt to use a non-Centers-of-Excellence network transplant medical center. TAP utilizes pre-arranged contracts at transplant programs not included the Transplant Centers of Excellence network to expand member access and geographic coverage.
